Department of Computer Science
Department of Computer Science was started with B.Sc., and B.C.A in the year of 2010. The M.Sc. degree course was launched in 2011, upgrading it to the postgraduate level. The Computer Science department is also a recognized research center with M.Phil Programme affiliation by Periyar University from 2012 onwards. After that, the Ph.D research Programme also established in the year 2015. The department is equipped with fully qualified and experienced faculty members. Ten of our faculty members are experts in various fields of teaching and research activities. Our department graduate and postgraduate students won gold medals and a numberRanks in university examinations conducted by Periyar University Salem-11, Tamilnadu, India.
Two laboratories in the department have been equipped with high-quality system configuration along with 120 systems with Air Condition Facility. At present, our department produces Seven Ph.D., research doctorates as well as produced 8 Gold medals 52 University ranks and in under graduate, post graduate, M.Phil programme. There are 18 teaching and 2 non-teaching staff members in our department. Among the teaching faculties 2 members are guiding M.Phil and P.hD scholars, 5 members are doing Ph.D Programme. The department staff members have contributed many research papers both national and international journals. The department intend for overall development of the students by involving them in various academic and non-academic programs. Such as, Guest Lecture, Seminar programmes, exhibitions, workshops and cultural actions etc. The department has registered good academic records both in university examinations as well as and placement drives. Many of the alumni of our curriculum have well-known careers in India and abroad as Software Engineers, System Analyst, Researchers, Executives, Professors, Lecturers and Teachers, etc.This department plays a key role in advancing technology, innovation, and computational problem-solving skills.
OBJECTIVE
- The student will learn the laboratory skills needed to software development, coding knowledge and interpret software design and implement in research.
- The student will acquire a foundation of computer science and applications of sufficient breadth and depth to enable them to understand and critically interpret the primary software & hardware literature.
- The student will develop the ability to effectively communicate software information and research results in written and oral formats.
- The student will learn professionalism, including the ability to work in teams and apply basic moral principles.
- To encourage the staff to take part in Seminars.
- To encourage the research publication of the staff in reputed journals.

ELIGIBILITY
B.Sc. COMPUTER SCIENCE/BCA
A candidate who has passed in Higher Secondary Examination with Mathematics or Business Mathematics or Computer Science or Statistics (Academic stream or Vocational stream) as one of the subject under Board of Higher Secondary Examination, Tamil Nadu as per the norms set by the Government of Tamil Nadu or an Examination accepted as equivalent thereto by the syndicate, subject to such other conditions as may be prescribed , are permitted to appear and qualify for the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and the Bachelor of Computer Applications degree examination of this university, after a programme of study of three academic years.
M.Sc. COMPUTER SCIENCE
A candidate who has passed in B.Sc. Computer Science / B.C.A / B.Sc. Computer Technology / B.Sc. Information Science / B.Sc. Information Technology degree of this University or from any other University.

Lab facilities in Computer Science Department
We provide ample computing facility to the students. Students have an unlimited Internet access from 9.30 AM to 4 PM. All computers in the lab have LAN facility. CS Department has following Software facilitiesin our labs as per the curriculum. Our two labs have good air conditions facilities.
