Anticipating the importance of commerce education in the upcoming years to come the opinion that the college must need its contribution in meeting the demands of the business and industrial world so decided to start commerce education in our college. In the department of commerce was established in 2009 under self financing stream, the department of commerce has been offering B.Com with computes application course in an upcoming years our department extend the courses was B.Com & M.Com, the course with accounting, Marketing, finance, Taxation and human resources management as specialization. Apart from the core specialization the department is also contributing to the allied activities such as; skill development.
The department was headed by the eminent person, with his succession plan, the department has been approved to guide PG, scholars in the years 2010. Since 2014, the department has been growing by introducing new courses establishing a fully fledged Research department offering both M.Phil and Ph.D with qualified faculty members. In 2019, a new course of B.Com with Accounting and Finance is established.
Currently the department is headed by a highly determined person, who gives continuous encouragement, guidance and gracious support to develop all the activities of the department. However, to train the young minds and empower them with knowledge and updated skills, the department has experienced and empowers them with knowledge and enhancing skills, the department has experienced and enthusiastic assistant profession with sincere and strong supporting staffs.
Eligibility B.Com, B.Com (CA) & B.Com (A&F)
- Candidate for admission to the first year of the UG – Degree Programme for B.Com, B.Com (CA) & B.Com (A&F) shall be required to have passed the higher secondary examination conducted by the Government of Tamil Nadu in the relevant subjects or other examination accepted as equivalent thereto by the Syndicate, subject to such other conditions as may be prescribed there for.
M.Com
- Candidate for admission to the first year of the PG- Degree Programme should be required to pass in the UG Degree Programme was B.Com, B.Com(CA), B.Com (A&F), B.Com(E- Com),BBA,BBM,BBA\BBM(CA), B.Com(CS),BCS,BCS(CA),BA(CS),B.A(CS) with CA, and B.Com(Co-Operation).
OBJECTIVE
- To provide Knowledge in different areas of commerce or trade.
- To produce graduates with practical & theory exposures.
- To inculcate the element of research amongst the students to develop their overall personality
- To motivate the students to participate in various academic exercises activities & programmers.
- To enrich the students for academic excellence.
- To acquaint students with the changes take place in the fields of trade, commerce and Industry.
- To increase potentiality of students for employment opportunities.
- To prepare our students for facing challenges of changing environment.

- Empowerment of learners through access to education in general and particular in commerce, they enabling them to develop as intellectually active and socially responsible citizens always ready for continuous personal and professional growth to fit in the competitive business environment.
Mission
- To create a model of the young generation, who are involving from the diversified plans of the society, they will be prepared to accept responsibilities in the business world and at the same time mold them into disciplined, update present cultured and development of social human being with moral and spiritual values.
