YRC / RRCS – Sri Vijay Vidyalaya College of Arts and Science
The Youth Red Cross (YRC) and Red Ribbon Club (RRC) of Sri Vijay Vidyalaya College of Arts and Science are highly active wings dedicated to promoting health awareness, humanitarian service, and social responsibility among students.
- Major focus areas of YRC/RRC is:
- Reducing Anemia in Women:
- Conducting awareness programmes on nutrition, iron-rich diets, and women’s health.
- Organizing medical camps and screenings to identify and reduce anemia among women in the community.
- Blood Donation Drives:
- Every year, the YRC/RRC unit donates blood to Dharmapuri Medical College Hospital.
- The college organizes at least three blood donation camps annually.
- Each camp contributes a minimum of 100 units of blood, making the institution a major supporter of public health needs in the district administration.
- Social Awareness Activities:
- Awareness campaigns on hygiene, health, HIV/AIDS prevention, and first aid.
- Community outreach programmes to educate youth and villagers on social responsibility, safety, and wellness.
- Collaboration with healthcare professionals to train students in voluntary service. Through these impactful initiatives, the YRC/RRC units play a vital role in shaping socially conscious, empathetic, and health-aware citizens.
