SC / ST SCHOLARSHIP
- In Tamil Nadu, Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) students in arts colleges can primarily apply for the Post-Matric Scholarship, which is available through both central and state government schemes.
DOCUMENTS REQUIRED
- When applying for a scholarship, ensure you have the following documents ready:
- Passport-size photograph
- Caste certificate
- Income certificate
- Domicile certificate
- Academic certificates and mark sheets (10th, 12th)
- Proof of admission and college fee receipt
- Aadhaar Card
- Bank account passbook with an Aadhaar-linked account
PUDHUMAI PENN SCHEME
- To be eligible for the Pudhumai Penn Scheme in a Tamil Nadu Arts College, a girl student must be a Tamil Nadu resident, have studied Classes 6 to 12 in a government or government-aided school, be pursuing her first undergraduate degree or diploma in a recognized institution, and receive ₹1,000 per month directly in her bank account.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Residency: Must be a resident of Tamil Nadu
- Schooling: Must have studied in a government or Government-aided school from Classes 6th to 12th.
- Gender: Applicant must be a female.
- Higher Education: Must be pursuing her first undergraduate degree, diploma, ITI, or any other recognized course in a recognized institution.
- Family: The scheme extends to any number of girls in a family pursuing higher education.
- Other Scholarships: Availing other scholarships does not disqualify a student from this scheme.

NSP SCHOLARSHIPS
- For NSP scholarships in Tamil Nadu in 2022-23, eligibility for schemes like the Post-Matric Scholarship for Minorities required being a minority student (Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi) with at least 50% marks in the previous exam and an annual family income under ₹2.5 lakh, while general eligibility across schemes also included candidates from SC, ST, OBC, EWS categories, Persons with Disabilities, and female/meritorious students. A key requirement for all schemes on the portal was Indian citizenship and a One Time Registration (OTR) using Aadhaar.

- Academic: Studying in Class 11, 12, Graduate, Postgraduate, Technical, Vocational, M.Phil., or Ph.D. courses.
- Marks: Secured at least 50% marks in the previous final examination.
- Income: Annual family income from all sources less than ₹2.5 lakh.
TITAN SCHOLARSHIP
- Titan scholarship eligibility requires students to be first-year students in ITI, Diploma, Engineering, Medicine, Arts, or Science courses, with over 50% marks in 10th and 12th grade. The scholarship is for economically underprivileged, meritorious students, particularly in select Tamil Nadu districts. Applicants must also not be receiving other scholarships, and some versions may include age and family income criteria.
- General eligibility criteria
- Academics: Must have obtained more than 50% marks in both 10th and 12th-grade examinations.
- Course: Be a first-year student in a full-time, regular course from a recognized institution, such as ITI, Diploma, Engineering, Medicine, Arts, or Science.

Specific criteria and considerations
- Location
- In some versions, the scholarship is specific to residents of certain districts in Tamil Nadu, like Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, and Tiruvannamalai.
- Merit-cum-need:
- The scholarship is awarded based on both academic merit and financial need.
- Family income:
