The Department of B.Sc Cyber Security was established at Sri Vijay Vidyalaya College of Arts & Science in the academic year 2025–26, marking a significant step toward nurturing professionals who can secure and sustain the digital future. The department is dedicated to providing a strong foundation in computer networks, cryptography, ethical hacking, digital forensics, and cyber laws. It aims to equip students with both the technical expertise and analytical mindset required to identify, prevent, and respond to cyber threats across diverse domains.

With a curriculum designed in line with the latest industry standards, the department emphasizes practical learning through real-time projects, simulations, and collaborations with cyber security experts. State-of-the-art laboratories, experienced faculty members, and a focus on research and innovation ensure that students gain hands-on exposure to emerging technologies and threat landscapes.

Beyond technical proficiency, the department seeks to instill ethical responsibility, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities in students, preparing them to contribute effectively to a secure digital ecosystem. Eligibility B.Sc. CS with Cyber Security

A candidate who has passed the Higher Secondary Examination with Mathematics, Business Mathematics, Computer Science, or Statistics (Academic or Vocational stream) as one of the subjects under the Board of Higher Secondary Examination, Tamil Nadu, as per the norms set by the Government of Tamil Nadu, or an examination accepted as equivalent thereto by the syndicate, subject to such other prescribed conditions, is eligible to apply for the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science degree. Eligible candidates are permitted to pursue the programme and appear for the B.Sc. Cyber Security degree examination of this university after completing three academic years of study.

OBJECTIVE

The student will learn the laboratory skills required for software development, coding, software design interpretation, and research implementation.
The student will acquire a strong foundation in computer science with sufficient breadth and depth to understand and critically interpret primary software and hardware literature.
The student will develop the ability to communicate software-related information and research outcomes effectively in both written and oral formats.
The student will learn professionalism, including teamwork skills and the application of basic moral principles.
To encourage faculty members to participate in seminars.
To promote research publications by the staff in reputed journals.

Lab facilities in Cyber Security Department

We provide ample computing facility to the students. Students have an unlimited Internet access from 9.30 AM to 4 PM. All computers in the lab have LAN facility. CS Department has following Software facilitiesin our labs as per the curriculum. Our two labs have good air conditions facilities.
